Proper care of hearing aids - especially important in summer
What to pay attention to at high temperatures
Hearing aids in everyday life
If it gets hot where you live, this can be problematic for the sensitive electronics of hearing aids. Not so much because of the temperatures, but mainly because moisture develops more quickly due to the high humidity.
Always dry your hearing aids thoroughly
If you live in hot and humid conditions, you should exercise caution when using hearing aids. The problem: The sensitive hearing aids that come into direct contact with the skin must be well protected against moisture and sweat.
Proper care of your hearing aids is therefore especially important.. Daily drying is always advisable. Use specially designed drying devices like an electronic dehumidifier that dries up excessive moisture without damaging the sensitive electronics inside the hearing aids. Do not dry your hearing aids in direct sunlight. They can heat up too much and damage the electronics. You should also never place the hearing aids in the oven or microwave to dry them. Do not leave your hearing aids in the car. Similar to direct sunlight, excessive heat can damage the electronics.
A final tip: Have your hearing aids professionally cleaned quarterly. Because even with conscientious handling and care, dust, sand and dirt are not 100 percent removed. We at KIND are here for you.
