Almost invisible hearing aids
Optimized design for hearing solutions
Hearing Aid Guide
Many people use hearing solutions, enabling them to understand better and enjoy life more actively. Even though making everyday life easier is the most important function of hearing aids, most people also want them to be as inconspicuous as possible. You can't make them disappear completely, but virtually invisible hearing aids are certainly possible. To achieve this, you need to find out about the construction, design and colour scheme.
Hearing aid styles and design
There are basically two types of hearing solutions. Those who want a virtually invisible hearing aid will first think of in-the-ear hearing aids. Here, all components - microphone, sound processor and loudspeaker - are housed in a case that is worn in the ear canal. There are particularly small models of these hearing aids that are almost invisible. However, the design is not suitable for every auditory canal, as this is anatomically different for every person.
Behind-the-ear hearing aids are therefore more common. Microphone, sound processor and loudspeaker are located in a housing that is worn behind the ear. The optimised sound is conducted via a thin tube into an ear mould in the ear canal.
If you want to wear almost invisible hearing aids, you should try out whether behind-the-ear hearing aids with an external receiver are the right choice. With these models, the loudspeaker is housed in the ear mould. The connection to the housing worn behind the ear runs via a thin cable that is more inconspicuous than the tube.
In addition to the particularly small versions of the designs described, there is also the option of designing the earmold individually so that it fits even better into the auricle and thus also becomes almost invisible.
Almost invisible hearing aids: The color does not have to be bright
The thought is obvious that in terms of color, a skin tone is the appropriate choice for virtually invisible hearing aids. But hearing solutions are worn in the shadows, and hairstyle and hair color also play a role. Therefore, hearing aids may well be a dark shade of brown so as not to be quickly recognizable through the hair. Those with light blonde or grey hair can choose a white, silver or grey colour.
The best way to find the right shape, design and colour of a hearing solution is to consult a hearing care professional.
